Train Chief II is the most sophisticated, reliable wireless remote control system ever developed for the operation of manual locomotive controls from virtually any location. Lightweight and compact, this third generation of wireless technology offers a greater array of functions, at a more economical cost.

Train Chief II is ergonomically designed to make full remote control simple and effective - even with just one hand. It frees the operator to control the locomotive from the safest position possible. So wherever your operator stands, it's always the safe side of the tracks.

Train Chief II incorporates the state-of-the-art Communicator, the new generation of wireless communication technology developed by Control Chief in partnership with Rockwell Automation. This advanced system is based on the Allen-Bradley SLC-500 platform, and supports UHF narrow band frequencies for communication. Train Chief II operates under FCC Part 90 regulations and requires a user license. The transmitter is designed to provide reliable wireless communication at distances to 3500 feet and beyond without radio repeaters.

In addition, the Communicator technology offers integrated connectivity to third party devices including:

  • Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) systems
  • Cellular phone links
  • Vehicular tracking network integration
