The Woodlands Foundation Chooses Adonix X3 To Streamline Accounting And Reporting

An innovative western Pennsylvania non-profit organization has found a way to manage the finances for its many programs more efficiently while meeting the reporting requirements of its board of directors and numerous contributors.

The Woodlands Foundation, which provides facilities where charities can offer life-enriching programs to their clients, chose Adonix X3 enterprise accounting software to meet its financial reporting needs.

"As a non-profit organization, we have distinct reporting requirements, both to our board of directors and to our contributors," said Peter Clakeley, executive director of The Woodlands Foundation. "We run multiple programs and projects simultaneously, each with a different source of revenues and each requiring specific tracking. The multi-dimensional features of Adonix X3 allow us to easily capture data and create virtually any financial report we want in any format.

"The decision-support system was another major reason we selected the Adonix X3. Because it automates many steps in the process, our reports are timely and accurate," said Clakeley.

"We were happy to provide the Woodlands Foundation with a cost-effective solution that has the flexibility to handle the variety of accounting reports it requires," said Tom George, vice president of Adonix.

The Adonix X3 is specially designed for mid-sized businesses -- those with revenues from $10 to $300 million. The product suite integrates all business functions into one comprehensive system to ensure seamless information flow throughout a company and with its business partners. It includes modules for manufacturing, sales, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse management and quality control, as well as accounting.

"Adonix is working closely with the Woodlands Foundation to ensure smooth and complete integration of the software into our information technology system," said Clakeley.

The Woodlands Foundation, a 32-acre site located in Wexford, Pennsylvania, has as its mission to enrich the lives of all people with disability and chronic illness. Beginning in 1985 as a site for summer recreational and therapeutic programs for children with spina bifida, the Woodlands is now a year-round facility. By the end of 2000, the Woodlands will have served 13 different charities and over 1400 individuals.

Adonix, with world headquarters in Paris and North American headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently extended its product offering and geographical presence by merging with Prodstar, one of the top European vendors of manufacturing systems, and with the former GSI Transcomm, the internationally known American vendor of the TOLAS distribution package. In 1999, the Company reported revenues of more than $50 million, while supporting more than 4,000 customers worldwide through its network of 100 partners located throughout the United States and Europe.
