Star Micronics Introduces Industry's Most Cost-effective Integrated Motion Control Solution

Edison, NJ — Star Micronics America introduces the RC-0411 Servo System, the first totally integrated motion control solution that also costs less than any other comparable solution presently on the market. Combining a controller, amplifier, encoder, and motor in one compact package, the RC-0411 is designed for OEMs as well as in manufacturing automation systems. Industries in which it is well suited include pharmaceutical, semiconductor, printing, and security .

The key to the RC-0411 is the Termi-BUS™ technology. By incorporating Termi-BUS into the system, the RC-0411 has unified control of mix-and-match brushless and/or stepping motors. Such a design allows either simple or high-performance actuators to be driven by a single command controller, eliminating the need for separate controllers for each actuator. The result is a true plug-and-play solution that is extremely compact and easy to operate, as the elimination of multiple controllers simplifies programming while maintaining the ability to connect with up to 16 axes.

At the heart of the solution are the RC-0411 combined closed loop motor/amplifier stepping motors. The RC-0411 features a maximum speed of 4500 RPM and has a rated output of 80 W. A standard comprehensive parameter list enables easy programming of target location, speed, and acceleration/deceleration. Star has managed to combine all these features into a housing that measures only 89 L x 42 W x 61 D (mm), which is much smaller than motors of similar performance.

The RC-0411 servo motors have a price of only $775 and are available for immediate delivery. Other models of servo steppers as well as brushless servos are available if more than 80 W is required.
