The source code for an industrial PID control algorithm has now been made available
ExperTune, Inc.ource code for an industrial PID control algorithm has now been made available. The ExperTune algorithm incorporates industrially hardened technology similar to that used within the major DCS systems. The algorithm has robust anti-reset-windup, solid initialization, bumpless transfer, and full alarming and over-ranging. A PV filter is automatically applied to the derivative action to reduce controller output jitteriness.

Separate C, C++, OCX code modules are included. Use the modules in:

  • Imbedded micro-controllers (C code)
  • NT and Unix based systems and some micro-controllers (C++ code)
  • NT or Windows 2000 based systems (OCX)
