Siemens CEMAT Specifically Designed For Cement Plants
Atlanta, GA - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. recently announced the U.S. introduction of CEMAT, a proven software technology for operating cement plants that offers easy-to-use diagnostics to reduce downtime. Based on more than 30 years of experience working with the world's leading cement producers, Siemens' preconfigured CEMAT software modules guide operators through the diagnostics functions and interlocks for drives, dampers, belt conveyors and measuring values.
CEMAT improves operator productivity with interfaces that deliver precise diagnostic information prior to starting drives or groups of devices. The easy-to-use interfaces provide a consistent look and feel for all plant operations.
"Cement plant producers can now focus on optimizing the process rather than designing the basics of the control system," said Moin Shaikh, Siemens cement industry marketing manager. "CEMAT is easy to operate, eliminates islands of automation and reduces programming errors."
In addition to cutting engineering time, the pre-engineered CEMAT modules and interfaces help shorten time to market and project cycles while reducing costs and increasing plant output. New drive asset management capabilities are also available that include Siemens SIMOCODE intelligent drive devices, detailed fault indication and high performance plausibility logic.
The scaleable CEMAT system offers all of the features of the latest version of SIMATIC PCS 7 distributed process control system. The open platform of the system enables cement producers to use the best process optimization packages to increase plant throughput and productivity.
