With MASS AutoSave from MDT Software, you can manage programming changes to your intelligent devices automatically, dramatically increasing efficiencies and ensuring peak automation software and process performance.

MASS AutoSave is client/server based. The client enables MASS AutoSave to interact with Rockwell Software's RSLogix, A.I., 6200, and launch APS Series software for Allen-Bradley devices. Users enjoy seamless integration because MDT Software has licensed technology directly from Rockwell Software and Rockwell Automation.

You protect your valuable automation software investment.

MASS AutoSave and device-specific software modules ensure a centralized, plant-wide PDS/program-panel solution. Using one common user interface to all programs and files, you gain a documented, well-defined automation environment that provides:

  • Secured Access
  • Version Control
  • Automated Archiving/Backups
  • Scheduled Program Compares
  • Complete Audit Trails
  • Automatic Change Notification
  • Quick Disaster Recovery
  • FDA, OSHA, EPA and ISO 9000 Compliance Support
  • Year 2000 Validation Assistance

    Here's How It Works

MASS AutoSave's Client/Server modules are composed of two parts: the client application and the server application. The client is a secured, intuitive Windows 95/98/NT-based program installed on the programming node. It can store and retrieve files and information from the server on an as-needed basis. The server acts as the master control center, coordinating all change-related programming activities and storing all device program files in one central location.

    TCP/IP Client

The client interface enables users to access the functions of the server via a TCP/IP link, reaping important benefits, including:

    Secured Access

  • The user logs on via ID and password.
  • The user selects a device program from a specific area.
  • The server determines if the user is authorized to make changes on that specific device.
  • If the user is authorized, only the functions that the user is allowed to access on that device are made available on the client menus.
  • If, and only if, the user is authorized to select "Edit On-Line," MASS AutoSave transfers the latest program version to the program panel in the native file format used by RSLogix, A.I., or 6200. The programming panel is automatically attached to the correct processor and the on-line programming editor is initiated. Because MASS AutoSave "locks in" to the current program, an unauthorized or accidental switch to a different RSLogix program is prevented, thus closing the door on this potential security gap. You can also utilize NT security to prohibit use of RSLogix outside of MASS AutoSave, thus totally preventing unauthorized access.

With MASS AutoSave, unauthorized changes are minimized, greatly reducing costly errors
