The RM-1 Redundancy Manager, designed for Ethernet redundant ring systems utilizing the company's rail hubs and switches, automatically supervises the ring structure and is responsible for detection and bypass of network faults within 300 ms of their occurrence. The unit provides eight twisted-pair ports on 10Base-T with shielded RJ45 connectors to connect operator stations, PLCs, I/O blocks or other twisted-pair inputs, plus two free slots for 100 Mbit modules or fiber optic links. It operates on 24 V DC supplied over the rail terminal block, which may also be configured for redundancy.
