PlantScape Chosen as the Foundation for Computer Integrated Manufacturing at NORIT Americas
NORIT Americas Inc., a subsidiary of NORIT N.V. has selected Honeywell's PlantScape system for their Pryor, Okla. plant's computer integrated manufacturing process.
Activated carbon (AC) is used in the purification of liquids, air and gases. For example, AC is utilized in products such as home water filtration systems that remove organic compounds such as volatile organic compounds, pesticides and benzene and metals such as chloride and radon.
The order includes a PlantScape control system with engineering and installation services and training. The system will control the production process and integrated lab and environmental systems.
The product is an open control system that delivers integrated continuous, batch and discrete/machine control. A true hybrid control system, PlantScape combines the integrated architecture and functionality of distributed control systems with the affordability and scalability of PC/PLC systems.
PlantScape's system software can serve as an operations and engineering interface for Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley controllers as well as others to meet the needs of manufacturers with an installed base of controllers. It also connects to many additional networks, including Ethernet, Modbus and fieldbus.
