Parametric Technology Announces Partnership with CGTech

Parametric Technology Corp. (Waltham, MA) announced a partnership with CGTech, the market leader in numerical control (NC/CNC) simulation and verification software technology for manufacturing.

The partnership extends Pro/NC functionality with three new options based on the VERICUT product line, including NC Verification for the verification of post-processed data, NC Optimization for tool path optimization, and NC Machine Simulation for machine kinematics simulation.

As part of this agreement, Parametric also announced VERICUT for Pro/ENGINEER, a replacement for Pro/NC-CHECK that provides Pro/NC customers with a state-of-the-art NC simulation solution. CGTech's VERICUT is fully integrated with Pro/NC and provides users with the same capabilities as Pro/NC-CHECK as well as advanced features such as part rotation and multi-window display. VERICUT for Pro/ENGINEER will be available to all new and maintenance Pro/NC customers for no additional charge with Pro/ENGINEER 2000i. Pro/NC customers who already have VERICUT will benefit from the improved interface.

According to Joe Lichtenberg, PTC's VP, the integration of CGTech's VERICUT NC verification technology with Pro/NC and Expert Machinist provides a turn-key manufacturing solution at an "aggressive" price.
