ORTEMS Aligns with Oracle to Deliver Plant-Centric APS to Mid-Market High-Tech Manufacturers
ORTEMS SA announced certification and participation in Oracle Corp.'s new FastForward Manufacturing program, and the general availability of ORTEMS-High Tech, a plant-centric advanced planning and scheduling (APS) solution tailored specifically to the requirements of mid-sized high-tech manufacturing companies. ORTEMS-High Tech blends software, consulting and integration services, education, and support to speed implementation and ROI for high-tech component assembly manufacturers. It is integrated with Oracle Applications Releases 10.7 and 11.02, and is newly certified as part of Oracle Alliance Cooperative Applications Initiative (CAI).

ORTEMS participation in Oracle's Cooperative Applications Initiative enables customers to seamlessly integrate ORTEMS P and SRP with Oracle applications. The integration is achieved through a series of application program interfaces (APIs) enabling rapid data access through the ORTEMS Visual Interface Configurator (VIC) . VIC is an object-oriented, easy-to-use visual tool, which provides for quicker configuration and greater stability and maintenance of the interfaces.
ORTEMS SRP provides constraint-based finite capacity scheduling and optimization of order sequencing to provide peak plant performance and reliable available-to-promise at least cost. ORTEMS SRP simultaneously considers materials, machines, and skilled labor in a single finite capacity MRP calculation loop. ORTEMS P works to the same result, but from work orders generated by the material plan in the ERP calculation. Ad-hoc user-defined criterion drives all calculations to ensure a schedule that best meets the current business requirements.
