New additions have been made to the ArmorBlock MaXum I/O family, which is an industrially hardened, distributed I/O product that combines an adapter, power supply and I/O into one industrially sealed package. The new 1792D ArmorBlock MaXum modules include a 12 input by 4 output module and an 8 output module. The modules give users greater flexibility in placing the correct number of I/O at any particular node, which minimizes the number of unused I/O per module and reduces cost.

ArmorBlock MaXum accommodates all DeviceNet media (round or flat cable), which makes it ideal for connecting a variety of DeviceNet- and non-DeviceNet-ready devices. With its networking capabilities, the new module bases allow users to power their outputs using DeviceNet's power supply instead of having to run a separate auxiliary power cable. This reduces the amount of cabling by up to 50 percent and can greatly reduce the cost of a DeviceNet installation in applications where low powered outputs are in use. Users have the option of using either traditional round cable with 12 or 18mm connectors or the flat media, KwikLink.

Other features of 1792D include advanced diagnostics for monitoring, input or output short circuit conditions, input off-wire and output overload occurrences. The blocks meet or exceed IP67, NEMA 4X/6P ratings and are capable of withstanding a 1200psi washdown.
