Designed for low-energy and battery-powered applications, BLP Components' Series 68 solenoid offers significant power
Designed for low-energy and battery-powered applications, BLP Components' Series 68 solenoid offers significant power savings over traditional linear types by using a magnetic hold to eliminate the need for continuous current in the operating coil.

Suitable for applications ranging from door locks to coin mechanisms in vending machines, the Series 6 magnet-assist solenoid is DC pulse-operated and is ideal for equipment where continuous hold is needed during a power failure. The reduced power requirements ensure that there are no associated heat problems, while BLP's design and manufacture of the device means that there is no price penalty to the customer compared with linear solenoids.

The standard Series 68 solenoid is available in 5, 10, 20 and 30W versions each with DC coil options of 5, 6, 12, 24, and 48V. The permanent magnet latching force of every device is 2.2Kgf (typical) while dielectric strength is 500V RMS (50Hz). As well as the standard product, BLP is also able to supply customized designs to meet specific application requirements.

Measuring just 46 x 26 x 21.5mm and weighing only 92g, the Series 68 is suited to use in equipment where space is at a premium and low overall weights are required. All versions of the Series 68 solenoid family have a single coil construction and can operate din temperatures ranging from –5 to 75ºC.
