KW Software is the global leader in PLC software for embedded and PC based control. On April 1, 2000, KW Software merged with AG-E of Aachen, Germany, a leading supplier of embedded fieldbus technology and bus configuration software to major control companies. AG-E's innovative V5 hardware module supports multiple fieldbus protocols (CAN, DeviceNet, Profibus, Interbus, AS-i). Protocol stacks are executed locally on the V5, which allows for a single driver to be written to support all fieldbuses. V5's flexibility, compact size, low cost and COM based configuration software, which is easily integrated with other control programming environments, make it ideal for embedding fieldbus technology into control equipment and systems.

The merger of KW Software and AG-E has joined together over 100 professionals dedicated to delivering powerful, flexible control, configuration and communication technology for global automation suppliers. MULTIPROG programming and bus configuration software can now be offered as an integrated development environment that delivers maximum development ease of use and efficiency. And, in addition to V5 functioning solely as a fieldbus master or slave, the ProConOS engine can execute on the V5 as well. This combination brings PLC control and fieldbus bus master technology together in a powerful, flexible and cost-effective package that can be deployed in a wide range of embedded control products.
