Kronos Incorporated Bolsters Timekeeper Central
Kronos Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON), the industry leader in frontline labor management solutions, today introduced Timekeeper Central V4.0 software, the newest version of Kronos' time and attendance application for small- and mid-sized organizations. Timekeeper Central automates the time-consuming and complex collection and processing of employee time, and is ideal for organizations that place a high level of importance upon self-sufficiency in installation and deployment, as well as ease of maintenance.
The newest version of Timekeeper Central leverages Kronos' 20+ years of experience in developing time and attendance systems. It is built upon the comprehensive feature set and robust pay-rules engine for which Kronos is best known, with technology that simplifies installation, maintenance, support and overall cost of ownership. Timekeeper Central provides the tools for a company to correctly and consistently apply company work rules and pay policies, manage employee benefit time and deliver real-time labor information to frontline supervisors who need to make timely labor management decisions. By providing the industry's most comprehensive set of user-definable parameters, Timekeeper Central can be quickly installed and easily re-configured without custom programming.
"Timekeeper Central gives mid-market companies the ability to reap the many productivity gains that frontline labor management technology can provide without the need for a complex IS infrastructure," said Mark S. Ain, CEO and chairman of Kronos. "We are seeing strong demand for this product from both our mid-size customers who want to upgrade their existing Kronos system and from new customers who haven't had the technical resources needed to implement and support more complex technology."
Kronos' customer base includes companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, hospitality, government, education, transportation and distribution and financial services.
Major New Features
The main thrust in the development of Timekeeper Central V4.0 was to make the product even easier to install, configure and maintain, lowering a customer's total cost of ownership and speeding their implementation. The introduction of a new Data Collection Module and associated device wizards simplifies data collection terminals set-up by allowing customers to configure their data collection terminals from a central PC. A new ODBC-compliant commercial embedded database automates many system administration tasks. It also works to maintain data intergrity and minimize database administration support via built-in integrity checks and preemptive self-repair functions. At the same time, the database allows those with ODBC knowledge to gain direct access to the time and attendance data and more powerfully leverage third party reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
Timekeeper Central runs under Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Microsoft NT. Timekeeper Central can be installed on the desktop or local area network (LAN). Wide area network (WAN) configurations are also possible through the use of Citrix WinFrame. Additional product information is available by calling 1-800-225-1561 or emailing info@kronos.com.
Meeting Needs of the Changing Workforce
Kronos offers an array of user-interaction options that provide employees in every work environment and every pay classification convenient access to Kronos applications. In addition to the conventional badge reader for data collection and system access, Kronos will soon offer Timekeeper Express software as a method of interacting with Timekeeper Central. Timekeeper Express, slated for delivery this fall, will enable the large number of employees and supervisors using Microsoft Outlook or other native Windows applications to record time information directly from their calendar or desktop PC.
