Interconnect System

3M Electronic Products Division interconnect system provides a way to connect electrical wiring in industrial control systems. 3M Electronic Products Division's primary use is to connect sensors or probes to programmable logic controllers. With its rugged design, the system is suited for use on the factory floor. The plug allows installers to terminate wiring without having to crimp or otherwise prep the wiring. Wiring is inserted into a special cover that temporarily grips the wire, then is snapped onto IDC contacts, which is then connected to a controller's u-clamp receptacle unit. This interconnect is a mass-termination IDC (insulation displacement connection).
