Integrated Software Tools

The Simatic Step 7 version 5.0 is a suite of integrated software tools to configure, manage and maintain a plantwide automation system. Fully compliant with IEC 1131 conventions, it offers a common engineering and configuration environment for dedicated hardware, PC-based or Windows CE control solutions. All configuration data needs only to be entered once for a PLC or PC using one development system. Users can choose from one of five programming languages (Ladder, Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, or Instruction List) in the project management and configuration stage, and then port the finished program to a number of company hardware platforms.
