IFS customer Willamette Valley Co. goes live on IFS Applications business software
System provides real-time information and complete visibility to key business functions
IFS North America, Inc. (Chicago) announced that Oregon-based Willamette Valley Company (WVCO) has completed phase one in the deployment of IFS Applications component-based business software. WVCO, a mixed-mode manufacturer, is using IFS software to support its offering of goods and services to manufacturing and wood products industries.
"With the IFS system, all aspects of our key business operations are now in real time," said Gerald Nakamura, WVCO director of information technology. "The benefit of this was clear on go-live day – we were entering customer orders, manufacturing products, shipping finished goods and posting to the general ledger by 9 a.m. It was business as normal with complete visibility across the system to information and processes.
"The IFS implementation has been considerably easier than any I've experienced with other leading enterprise software vendors. I think the success of the deployment can be largely credited to the total team effort with Willamette and IFS personnel in synch with one another at each milestone."
Terje Vangbo, president and CEO for IFS North America, commented, "The key difference between our software and other systems is that IFS Applications is the only true component-based solution. This means we can implement an integrated end-to-end business solution without radical and costly disruptions in a company's operations. Our approach lets companies evolve step-by-step to the latest e-business and enterprise applications, including customer relationship management, supply chain management and Internet storefronts."
WVCO has deployed IFS modules for manufacturing, distribution, financial and engineering functions at three divisions and corporate headquarters in Eugene and at a distribution center in Medford, Oregon. In Phase II, the company will implement additional IFS components at divisions in Eugene and facilities in Louisiana and Georgia.
WVCO provides a diversified mix of products and services to various industrial markets worldwide. Its core products include: synthetic patching and filling compounds; water-based primers, sealers, putties and paints; cast polyurethane components; adhesive extenders; specialty coatings and containment barriers; and precision fluid management equipment.
