IBASEt Highlights New Web-Based Functionality in MES Software at SAE

IBASEt (Lake Forest, CA), a supplier of paperless manufacturing execution systems (pMES), will highlight new Web-based functionality in their Solumina software at the Society of Aerospace Engineers (SAE) trade show in Seattle, June 8-10.

Solumina provides a paperless environment for creating, delivering, revising and tracking work orders, multimedia instructions, work specifications and quality assurance documents.

iBASEt joins a network of American, European and Asian aerospace manufacturing professionals who will work together to build the 21st century global manufacturing enterprise. At Booth No. 509, iBASEt will demonstrate how Solumina provides critical management reports over the Internet.

"[The SAE] conference provides a forum where manufacturing engineers, managers and executives can collaborate on solutions to problems facing the aerospace industry today and in the future," says Phil Davis, COO and president of iBASEt. "We see the need for a paperless environment on the shop floor continuing to grow -- not just in the United States, but also internationally." Davis adds that iBASEt just hired a European Sales Manager to meet that increasing demand.

According to Davis, complex manufacturing companies are realizing significant benefits from Solumina including increased productivity, throughput and cost savings. "We continue to add functionality that will thoroughly integrate the shop floor such as dynamic numeric control, statistical process control, Web-based reporting and e-mail. With Solumina's ability to interface with existing enterprise systems, manufacturers can no longer afford to ignore the shop floor," he says.

Solumina is a manufacturing software suite for discrete, complex organizations including aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). Applications include process planning, work instructions delivery, MRO, quality assurance, a CAD viewer and a graphical dispatch manager. These modules can eliminate one of manufacturing's most time-consuming and costly limitations on the shop floor -- paper.
