Honeywell introduces Operations Management solution for improved plant operating performance

Source: Honeywell Industrial Control
The Hi-Spec Solutions business of Honeywell Industrial Control (Phoenix) has introduced its comprehensive Operations Management software solution for the process industries. The solution sets operating targets for the plant, tracks actual operations versus the plan and identifies areas that may be improved. The solution establishes mechanisms for improved supervision of operating targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) in the manufacturing execution phase of the supply chain. Focused on better control of operations and decision making, the solution gives plant management the ability to reduce operating costs, improve product yields, optimize production, improve regulatory compliance, avoid incidents and make appropriate plant improvements.

The Operations Management solution is an integrated set of software applications designed to work together effectively. Key functions within the suite include Operating Instructions, to set daily planning targets; Operations Monitoring, to systematically monitor targets; Event Monitoring, for general monitoring and notification when events occur; and tools to calculate KPIs.

The solution can serve as an operator logbook that links standard operating procedures, plans, and performance reporting. It also helps improve reliability by ensuring that targets fall within standard operating limits, and by detecting any deviations against these plans.

Virginia Burnell, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions, said, "We're committed to providing comprehensive supply chain optimization solutions to the process industries. The Operations Management application suite is a key component in the manufacturing execution phase of these enterprise solutions. It plays an important role in giving management the ability to realize the value inherent in optimization opportunities, and then take the action needed to deliver improved profitability and competitiveness to the enterprise." Operations Management meets the requirements of refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical plants, offshore production platforms, mines, pulp mills and other process facilities.
