Hollow Shaft Harmonic Drive Actuators: 2 New Sizes from HD Systems

Our hollow shaft series of actuators are available in two new sizes, expanding this product line to give you 6 sizes to choose from.

The new FHA-14 is now the smallest hollow shaft harmonic drive actuator available. It delivers a continuous rated torques of 69 in-lbs. The new, largest hollow shaft harmonic drive actuator now available, the FHA-50 delivers a continuous rated torque of 2425 in-lbs. Both deliver positional accuracy better than 1 arc-minute. These units are compact in size, offer zero backlash, achieving excellent servo performance. The actuator uses rare earth brushless DC motors with integral electronic commutation and high resolution encoders for position and/or velocity feedback. Integral brakes are optionally available where position must be held with the power off. These actuators are ideal for robotics, machine tool, and semiconductor applications. They incorporate a large hollow shaft, allowing for cabling, laser light, or shafting to be passed directly through the center of the actuator.
