High Torque Solenoids Secure Pallets in Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems

VANDALIA, OH -- Combining high starting torque and reliability, TRW Sensors and Components' special precision Ledex rotary solenoids are being used to replace more costly servo motors for secure locking of pallets on automated storage/retrieval systems.

Offering torques up to 117 lb./in., these rotary solenoids withstand the abuse of multiple actuations, over long periods of time, without compromising performance. Units are rated at over 100 million cycles.

Ledex precision rotary solenoids are built with 30% more coil copper than standard coil solenoids for lower power consumption. This enables unit performance in applications with relatively long duty cycle ON times.

A precision wound coil provides excellent torque to size ratio. These high torque rotary solenoids are available in 8 sizes ranging from 0.75 in. to 3.375 in. diameters with standard strokes from 25° to 110°. Custom strokes are available with a one-time tooling charge.

Many of the Ledex precision rotary solenoids are available in stock for next-day shipment.

Ledex is a brand of TRW Sensors and Components, a part of TRW's Electrical and Electronic Systems division, a world-class supplier of advanced electronics, wiring systems, body systems and electrical systems.
