Groupe Schneider is Now Schneider Electric
By: Jim Lardear
Group Schneider changed its name to Schneider Electric to reflect the true purpose of the company.
With the full integration of Merlin Gerin, Modicon, Square D and Telemecanique, and the divestment of Spie Batignolles, Schneider Electric says it is now a strategically focused, worldclass manufacturer of electrical equipment.
The new company logo is designed express Schneider Electric's identity as a world leader in electrical distribution and industrial automation. The new signature comes with a more powerful logo that is better suited to the world of manufacturing. The signature systematically includes our four international brands-Merlin Gerin, Modicon, Square D and Telemecanique-which provide sustainable support for the development of Schneider awareness.
The change will help make Schneider Electric's communications more consistent, as it expresses what it does for the general public. It also corresponds to the company's identity with customers and suppliers, who have known it as Schneider Electric since May 1996.
