ORION Controllers Offer Fully Networked Automation
ORION Controllers Offer Fully Networked Automation

ORION automation control offers an industrial PC-based platform for multi-axis motion control including servos, machine I/O, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and factory connectivity. Using Ethernet, TCP/IP and IEEE-1394 networking technologies, ORION provides open standard factory data connectivity, digitally networked servos and lower maintenance and support costs.

A fully integrated control solution provides hardware and software building blocks that are engineered to plug together and work as a system. ORMEC utilizes industry-standard PC hardware (motherboards and Ethernet adapters) and open standards (IEEE-1394, PC Cards and TCP/IP) to create value for its customers. ORION and the ServoWire Drive Network provide state-of-the-art automation and motion control for up to 32 axes.

Networked Automation Solutions

IEEE-1394 and Ethernet provide standard network solutions for interfacing ORION controllers to servos, operator interfaces, Ethernet I/O or PLCs and other network devices.

  • ServoWire drives provide all-digital operation and offer motion I/O including programmable limit switches, high speed sensors and hardware overtravel limits.
  • Industry standard Ethernet adapters provide interface to variety of Ethernet I/O products and Ethernet enabled PLCs.
  • Use inexpensive serial communications link to interface QuickPanel touchscreens, or utilize Ethernet protocols to interface to popular HMI packages.
  • Factory network protocols supported include Modbus TCP, A-B Ethernet and Profibus DP.
