Fourth Shift redesigns Manufacturing Analysis module

To bring its Fourth Shift 7 ERP users real-time analysis and simulation capabilities, <=%company1%> (Minneapolis, MN) announced the release of a re-designed Manufacturing Analysis module.

According to the company, the Manufacturing Analysis module can help manufacturers reduce the time and cost of producing products, resulting in higher levels of customer satisfaction and increased profitability.

Manufacturing Analysis allows users to view item detail, item history, and lot trace information - in real time - from the bill of material. Multi-level bills of material are displayed graphically, making it easy to explode or flatten levels.

"The Manufacturing Analysis module enables the manufacturer to purchase the right components at the right time, to most efficiently manufacture their products. This minimizes lead times and improves inventory turns," says Albert Maruggi, director of corporate communications for Fourth Shift.

"Fourth Shift Manufacturing Analysis provides automated tools that address difficult tasks that are typically done manually or are not undertaken due to their complexity," says Steve Frades, Fourth Shift product manager. These tasks include aggregate lead-time analysis and costed impact build simulations.

Manufacturers can determine the aggregate lead-time of a multi-level assembly and determine the components on a lead-time's critical path. Manufacturers can simulate changes to critical component lead-times, and determine a best-case assembly lead-time. Manufacturers can also determine the maximum cost per assembly to reduce product lead-time percents. They can determine whether low cost components adversely impact assembly lead-times, and whether labor, material and overhead cost build-ups make sense.
