Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Expands Operations In Tianjin, China

Enhances Manufacturing Capabilities and Strengthens Global Supply Chain

Falls Church, VA (Marketwire) - Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company announced today that it is expanding the manufacturing operations of its Farris Engineering and Benshaw business units in China with a move to a new, state-of-the-art facility in the Wuqing Development Area located between Tianjin City and Beijing, China's capital. The new 49,000-square-foot facility consolidates the manufacturing operations of the two business units into one facility, providing opportunities to expand manufacturing, add to the work force and leverage shared resources.

The Wuqing Development Area is the fastest growing area in the country and the heart of North China's manufacturing center. The new location provides strategic access to an established customer base, a large pool of talented professionals and convenient transportation via sea, air and land.

"Tianjin, China continues to be a key part of our global expansion strategy," said David Linton, President, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company and Co-Chief Operating Office, Curtiss-Wright Corporation. "This move grows our manufacturing capabilities and strengthens our global supply chain so that we can cost-effectively and efficiently serve our customers operating in China and around the world with a complete, locally-produced product line. We now have the strategic integration in place to position us for continued success in this major market."

Farris Engineering continues to focus on international markets as part of its long-term growth strategy. The Tianjin relocation provides the ability to expand operations to meet anticipated growth requirements and to continue to service both the local Chinese market with CSQL certified valves and the international markets with ASME code certified pressure relief valves. Farris recently completed ASME recertification in the new facility.

In addition, Benshaw's move to the larger facility is vital to its growth strategies in China. The new facility provides the space to safely build and test medium voltage products as well as additional room for dedicated wire harness assembly, low voltage assembly, and testing areas. Benshaw recently added an Applications Engineer to assist with medium voltage sales, help ramp-up medium voltage production, and aid in additional CCC Certification projects. It has now completed CCC Certification testing on all low-voltage solid state starter frames. Currently, there are four additional products staged for CCC testing, including solid-state and wye-delta starter assemblies targeting specific OEM and industrial product segments.
