Catalytica Pharmaceuticals Selects POMS MES from Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions'

The Hi-Spec Solutions business of Honeywell Inc. (Phoenix) announced that Catalytica Pharmaceuticals Inc., a subsidiary of Catalytica Inc. selected the POMS Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to enhance business processes at its Greenville, NC pharmaceutical operation to improve time to market and manufacturing agility.

POMS software products became a part of Hi-Spec Solutions' Business.FLEX offerings when Honeywell acquired POMS Corp. in December 1999, making Honeywell the leading provider of MES solutions to the pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries.

Catalytica Pharmaceuticals, a supplier of drug development and manufacturing products and services to the pharmaceutical industry, selected POMS MES after an extensive search and evaluation process. POMS MES will help Catalytica continue to enhance its manufacturing agility and increase customer satisfaction through reduced time to market for new products.

POMS MES was also selected because of its robust product functionality, its ability to integrate easily with the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and its ability to direct and enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
