Rolling Counter Fire Doors

Cornell Rolling Counter Fire Doors are available with 3 HR, 11/2 HR, and 3/4 HR Underwriters' Laboratories labels. Counter fire doors are approved for the protection of openings up to 16'-0" in width when the height does not exceed 7'-6". When the width does not exceed 12'-0", the maximum height of the opening may not exceed 10'-0". Unlike fire doors, counter fire doors are approved for mounting to walls constructed of drywall and wood studs as well as metal studs #16 ga. or heavier.

Operation: Push up is available for sizes up to 80 sq. ft. and hand crank is available for economy where use and testing is infrequent. Motor operation is recommended for maximum convenience of operation, testing and for the control of automatic closing speeds. Virtually all of the closing controls and motor operators available to fire doors are also available for counter fire doors. One exception is EZ TEST 'n SET. Please refer to the Fire Door section for all the available systems.

Material and Finishes: Counter fire door curtains are available in 22 gauge galvanized steel with a baked-on light gray polyester enamel (powder coating is an available option) or #22 gauge 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish. Galvanized steel endlocks are provided on alternate slat ends, which aid in maintaining curtain alignment.

Sills: Now available with rolling counter fire doors are 11/2 HR UL labeled plastic laminate counter tops which are 1 5/8" thick and covered on all sides with a plastic laminate. Sills are furnished in a single piece to fit openings up to 10'-0" wide and two pieces with a center joint for openings up to 16'-0" wide. Sills are available in the following shapes: rectangular, T-shaped, H-shaped, and offset H-shaped. Colors may be selected from Wilsonart, Nevamar, or Formica plastic laminates.
