Lantronix LRS Remote Access Servers are the most versatile of our revolutionary Universal Thin Server products
Lantronix LRS Remote Access Servers are the most versatile of our revolutionary Universal Thin Server products, supporting a wide range of secure access applications including Dial-in, Dial-out, LAN-to-LAN, Console Server and ISP connections. An ideal choice for secure connectivity, all LRS models support PPP (PAP/CHAP), SLIP/CSLIP, SecurID, Radius, Kerberos, Unix, NetWare and local database for authentication on both inbound and outbound connections. For additional security, LRS products also support dialback, which requires a user to authenticate and have the LRS dial back the user at a predefined number.
LRS Remote Access Servers provide additional protection through their routing capabilities. TCP/IP, IPX, and AppleTalk protocols can be routed, in addition to support for Network Address Translation (NAT). All LRS products also come with Lantronix's Comm Port Redirector software which allows PC-based applications to access any port (and any attached device) as though it were directly attached to the PC's comm port. This is particularly valuable for existing PC applications that can only communicate with a comm port. The Comm Port Redirector provides 64 virtual comm ports that can be mapped to any port on the LRS.
