Mike McGrail established The McGrail Group (TMG) in 1990 out of a passionate belief that technology was about to become an essential component of business success. With the arrival of 2000, it's clear that his vision of a digital future was on target.

McGrail's earlier career had provided him with the ideal perspective from which to understand the technological revolution. In the 1970s, he managed specialized sales operations for IBM. In the early 1980s, he joined Exxon for that organization's brief foray into the computer business. Later in the decade, he explored the more entrepreneurial side of technology with Mars Electronics, a small division of M&M Mars.

To TMG, McGrail brings his belief in—as well as his understanding of—the competitive, technology-driven universe in which businesses must operate. He also brings his understanding of the pressures faced by large operations as well as small- and medium-sized businesses. Today, the company he founded has developed a comprehensive set of tools—McGrail calls them "digital disciplines"—to produce success in an increasingly digital world.

Important as these disciplines are, TMG understands that something more is needed for success. "The best technology in the world won't work unless the behavior of the people using it changes," McGrail believes. So while TMG provides great tools such as GoldMine sales automation software and personnel evaluation instruments, it also offers support and training to the people who use and manage them.
