ACS-Tech80 is the combination of two successful motion control companies. ACS Electronics was formed in 1985 and is located in Migdal Ha'Emek, Israel. Technology 80 was created in 1980 and is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The two companies merged on September 30,1999, to form ACS-Tech80 Inc., which serves the North American marketplace and ACS-Tech80 Ltd., which covers the rest of the world. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of ACS Electronics Limited.

The merger of ACS and Tech80 blended complementary product lines that meet both ends of the motion control marketplace. ACS specialized in advanced, stand-alone motion controllers and Control Modules (motion controllers with integrated digital amplifiers) for high-performance motion control applications. Tech80's host-dependent motion controllers and encoder interfaces offer solutions for low- and midrange board-level applications. The products are stocked in both locations to provide quick delivery on manufactured components.
