Providing superior connection integrity and vibration resistance, taris insulation displacement (IDC) terminal blocks are rated for at least 50 pounds pull-out force for 14AWG wire. This capability meets or exceeds standards established by UL 486A, which determines the minimum force a terminated wire can withstand without pulling free from the terminal block. UL 486A is the same standard used to test pull-out force in screw clamp and spring clamp version terminal blocks.
Wieland's taris IDC terminal blocks employ a proprietary clamping design that moves the clamping mechanism to the wire, resulting in 80-100 newtons of contact force.
Wieland's taris IDC blocks are available in 29 versions, including single-double feedthrough, knife-edge disconnect, fuse and ground blocks. All are equipped with universal DIN rail mounting feet. Wieland's IDC blocks are the thinnest in the industry at 5mm making them excellent for space restricted applications.
