Datasheet: Switch-Input Field Unit
The Switch-Input Field Unit is ideal for determining the state of contact switches without running wiring in the field. Two switch contacts can be accommodated by a single WI-SI Field Unit. Each contact is sampled 11 times a second to determine its state and if it has experienced a change of state. The status of the switch is sent over an RF communications link operating in the 902 MHz to 928 MHz ISM license-free band.
The power required for the switch status confirmation, as well as for the transceiver communications, is self-contained and sufficient up to 20 years of continuous operation.
The WI-SI Field Units may be used in conjunction with the DIN rail mounted WI-8SW or WI-4AO-8SW Output Modules to create discrete, switch closures in a control panel.
Two Field Unit packages are available. The WI-SI-x unit includes a junction box and terminal connection circuit board. The WI-SI-N unit is supplied with external twisted pair ‘flying' leads for use with existing junction.
Up to 100 field units of any type can be connected to a single base radio providing a fast to implement, low cost scalable monitoring system.
