The Serial/Ethernet converter comes complete with software to allow RS-232 devices to communicate with most computers, including PCs, Macs, Unix, Vax, and AS400s. The software allows serial ports on remote EDAS units to appear to Windows applications as local serial ports on the PC. The converter is suited for connecting RS-232 to any device such as terminals, scales, bar code scanners, machines, instruments, PLCs, controllers, gauges, smart sensors, and other devices directly to computers via Ethernet networks.
