A complete line of PC-based control hardware, from embedded CPUs to an extended remote I/O, is available

A complete line of PC-based control hardware, from embedded CPUs to an extended remote I/O, is available. The rack-mounted system has the form factor of small proprietary PLCs, but is a power PC-based controller, due to the combination of the hardware and the company's control software. A full line of I/O modules complements the CPU, including standard digital and analog, thermocouple, RTD, high speed counter, positioning, and more. In addition, the I/O can be controlled remotely from any ISA-bus PC (with company software) via an I/O interface card.

Hardware capabilities include up to 1024 local I/O points; up to 8196 I/O, local and remote, up to 20,000 ft.; PC-14 slots for other remote I/O cards; and CPU with built-in Ethernet and industry-standard serial communications. The software:

  • runs virtually unlimited ladder logic;
  • includes interface to many popular HMI/Scada applications;
  • includes built-in Java engine and FTP server;
  • supports user-written C, C++ and Java instructions/drivers;
  • and provides online run-mode programming, forced I/O and many other standard PLC functions.
