Mosca introduces new stainless steel strapping system designed for poultry, meat and seafood packaging processors which features coated and sealed components designed to resist corrosion.

(PRWEB) - EAM-Mosca Corporation is pleased to introduce the new ROMP-6R-VA stainless steel automatic strapping machine with roller conveyors. The ROMP-6 Evolution strapping machine line from EAM-Mosca offers a proven combination of performance and flexibility. In a few short years, the Evolution line has developed wide appeal in a number of industries. Currently, there are over 600 ROMP-6 machines installed in the Americas in a variety of automated and off-line production lines.

Since introducing its first strapping machine aimed at packing fresh meat, poultry and seafood products in 2010, EAM-Mosca has learned first-hand about the need for everyday reliability and consistent performance for packing perishable products in difficult environments. Mosca’s new ROMP-6R-VA-Sonixs benefits from this experience, with components manufactured to resist corrosion in the typically cold, moist conditions inherent in these processing environments.

The ROMP-6R-VA is housed in a rugged stainless steel cabinet and both external and internal parts are made of, or coated with, material designed to withstand the cold, wet conditions in which these machines will be used. The unit moves product on a rugged roller conveyor with a ridged v-belt drive that eliminates belt tracking issues and simplifies belt tensioning requirements. With an added option the ROMP-6R-VA’s conveying direction can be reversed to provide flexibility and interchangeability in operations that have lines with both right and left handed equipment layouts. In addition, oversized casters roll easily on plant floors and won’t get caught in drain openings.

According to Edward Martin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, “Our new ROMP-6R-VA system is completely corrosion resistant utilizing stainless steel and aluminum materials. It also features a sealed and splash-proof control cabinet and operation panel, and all cables are wired in sealed terminal boxes. Our years serving the protein markets have provided us keen insight to important industry needs. We believe we have created a machine that will better meet those requirements and provide the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in our product class.”

The combination of conveyor and high speed sealer provides an impressive package throughput of up to 40 units per minute. The machines include an option for a pneumatic press and are available in a 600mm x 600mm (24” x 24”) arch size. The machines offer full electrical integration into virtually any automated production line. The system features automatic energy saving modes, standard strap positioning, and are adaptable to many complex application requirements.

The machine includes the proven Standard 6 Strap-way providing maximum integrity to the strap path from dispenser to strap feed completion, offering unprecedented reliability. The strap track from dispenser to sealer can be quickly disassembled without tools for convenient cleaning and servicing. Strap threading is fully automatic and as the machine detects the end of a coil it ejects any residual strap automatically, facilitating the reloading of the next strap coil. For operator convenience, coils can be changed from the front of the cabinet, or when installed in a conveyor line, from the side via a sliding drawer.

The ROMP-6R-VA is available with Mosca’s proprietary Sonixs ultrasonic sealer which features a special coating to protect the sonotrode from corrosion in damp environments. The innovative Evolution sealer is built on the brushless DC motor technology, an original Mosca innovation. Its simplified mechanics are proven to reduce noise, wear, lubrication and maintenance requirements. Moving elements are designed with sealed bearings in an open lever style construction that eliminates sensitivity to dust and dirt, reducing cleaning needs to a minimum.

The conveyor tables hinge up past 90 degrees from a horizontal home base for easy maintenance and convenient servicing. For maintenance ease, the table tops and top front and rear access panels are completely removable. The operational side is removable without tools.

One of EAM-Mosca’s important successes in the protein industries has been helping customers reduce the cost of strapping by a combination of reducing the number of straps per box and/or reducing the size and cost of the strapping product. The precision of the Evolution strapping system, from dispenser through the sealer and feed tracks enables the Mosca equipment to run with high reliably while utilizing inexpensive, lighter weight strapping products. Multiple customers have successfully downsized strap from relatively expensive 9mm PP strap to 6 mm or even 5 mm products, with no loss of efficiency or package integrity. Lighter straps not only reduce cost, but provide a more sustainable package offering as well.

EAM-Mosca Corporation provides high-performance strapping system solutions to a variety of industries, including food, graphic arts, mailing, fulfillment, logistics, corrugated, wood, and other industrial or consumer goods. We combine innovative equipment with strapping materials manufactured to maximize machine performance and customer support programs that help our customers to meet their performance and productivity goals.
