Jovix™ Selected By MEG Energy As Its Single Site Material Control System

Large SAGD Plant to Use Auto-ID, Mobile Technology and a Comprehensive Material Control Solution to Address Key Project Goals

Birmingham, AL Atlas RFID Solutions, the leader in comprehensive auto-ID solutions for construction site materials management, today announced that MEG Energy selected its Jovix™ solution as their site material control system for the Christina Lake Phase 3A Central Processing Facility in Alberta, Canada. The Christina Lake 3A project is a SAGD plant that is approved to produce 50,000 barrels of oil per day. The plant is slated to start construction in 2014.

Jovix™ is a comprehensive solution utilizing hardware, software and mobile technology to allow clients to easily locate and manage critical construction materials dispersed across multiple locations that make up the complex construction supply chain. The Christina Lake Phase 3A plant will be constructed using a combination of two general contractors, with several contributing suppliers and fabricators. The Jovix™ solution will manage incoming shipments, material receiving, field installation work packages, materials requests and issuing, storage and material location on the project site and the remote marshaling yard.

“MEG Energy was searching for a single site material control system that both MEG and contractors could effectively leverage to increase construction productivity, reduce material issues, reduce material control staffing requirements and create a single source of data on material information as it moved throughout the project lifecycle,” said Jon Chesser, Vice President and Canada Regional Manager for Atlas RFID Solutions. Ultimately the Jovix™ solution was chosen for its ability to integrate with a variety of auto-ID capabilities and its user friendly interface.

“Atlas continues to have great success in the Canadian Oil Sands construction market by providing a solution to construction project teams that increases overall productivity by eliminating material readiness issues from daily work plans,” according to Robert Fuqua, Atlas RFID Solutions CEO. “We look forward to building a strong partnership with MEG Energy on the Christina Lake project and working with them on future projects as well.”
