Honeywell's UOP Gas Plant Selected By PennTex North Louisiana To Recover Valuable Natural Gas Liquids In North America

PennTex to process 200 MMSCFD of natural gas at Louisiana facility

UOP LLC, a Honeywell company, announced recently that PennTex North Louisiana, LLC ("PennTex North Louisiana"), a subsidiary of PennTex Midstream Partners, LLC ("PennTex"), has selected UOP to engineer, procure and construct (EPC) a gas processing plant to recover valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs) in northern Louisiana. The new plant will be capable of processing 200 MMSCFD of natural gas and will be in production in the fourth quarter of 2015.

The EPC contract is the second that PennTex North Louisiana has awarded UOP for its North Louisiana operations. UOP's pre-engineered modular gas processing plant will enable quick construction and installation, allowing PennTex North Louisiana to start up on schedule, while providing superior quality control.

PennTex has also entered into a letter of intent with UOP to purchase a third 200 MMSCFD cryogenic plant, scheduled for delivery in November 2015, which will be used in one of Penntex's midstream platforms.

"UOP's modular gas plant and EPC services will allow PennTex North Louisiana to begin producing NGLs quickly, accelerating revenue capture," said Rebecca Liebert, senior vice president and general manager of UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business. "UOP's modular approach also provides high-quality construction and on-schedule delivery and start-up."

UOP's pre-engineered modular equipment can easily be shipped to remote locations. Modules fit together easily and efficiently, significantly reducing construction time and expense, and enhancing reliability after start-up. This enables customers to more quickly begin processing gas and earning revenue. The modular approach also allows for swift field assembly and, when coupled with the UOP standardized installation plan, results in a fast and cost-effective solution. For repeat customers, the standardized modular approach helps drive greater ease of operation for the customer due to common parts, skid and installation layouts, and spares that simplify training, operations and maintenance.

For both PennTex North Louisiana projects, UOP will supply and install the modular cryogenic, dehydration, acid gas removal, inlet/residue compression, control system, flare system and site electrical equipment. It will also supply site utility systems and buildings for office, control room, motor control center, and compressor requirements.

Modular equipment is one of the key technologies offered by UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business to treat and process natural gas. UOP also offers gas technologies to purify hydrogen used in refineries, and to extract water, mercury, sulfur, carbon dioxide and other contaminants from raw natural gas streams. The business has supplied technology to more than 3,600 individual process units for gas processing in a broad range of applications throughout the world. UOP also supplies modular equipment to the global refining and petrochemical industries.

Based in Houston, Texas, PennTex is a full service, multiplatform midstream company dedicated to creating a leading energy logistics business through strategic partnerships with its customers. PennTex's senior management has more than 150 years of collective experience constructing and operating midstream facilities across North America. In March, PennTex announced a joint venture with producers in the North Louisiana region, backed by a substantial equity commitment from investment firm NGP Energy Capital Management.
