GE Security Receives General Services Administration Approval Of Updated Contract, Launches Authorized GSA Service Provider Program
BRADENTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions (NYSE:GE), today announced the company has modified its contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to update the schedule of available GE Security products. With the updated contract, GE Security's authorized GSA service providers will have the ability to sell GE Security products and provide service to federal, state and local government agencies across the U.S.
Along with the updated contract, select GE Security partners will have access to the approved GSA product schedule through the company's newly created GE Security Authorized GSA Service Provider Program. This program was developed as a way to streamline the governmental procurement process and ensure government agencies' needs are being met in a timely and cost effective manner. The ability to secure more government contracts is expected to provide approved GE Security partners with significant new opportunities for increased revenue.

State and local governments are now permitted to purchase goods and services off of the GSA Schedule for Security and Fire Equipment (Schedule 84) as a result of legislation passed by Congress earlier this year. This will allow state and local governments to benefit from the federal government's pricing power and further save by avoiding costly bidding and procurement processes.
The updated GSA contract includes product solutions designed for law enforcement, security, facility management systems, fire and life safety, intrusion, access control, alarm and signal systems and video.
