Field Installable Circular Connectors

The CR Series field installable circular connector is for use in factory automation, measurement, control and regulatory applications. The series uses an insulation-displacement technique that reduces the need for stripping, soldering, screw tightening or crimping of individual wires. Users can assemble the connector by inserting three leads and the ground lead into the compact housing, and pressing in the insulation displacement contacts with pliers. The connectors can accommodate jacketed cable from five to 11mm O.D., and wires cross sections between 0.5mm² and 0.75mm² (18 – 20 AWG). An assembly lock provides secure connections, and an integral bayonet-locking safety sleeve ensures optimal strain relief, while protecting the connectors from dirt and water in accordance with IP 65 standards. The connector line is designed for operating voltages up to 250V and operating currents up to eight A.
