Exhibited at the ISA Tech '99 Show: Terminal Blocks in Intrinsic Safety Blue

PCD Inc.'s fixed-mount terminal blocks are available in intrinsic safety blue. The color clearly identifies the terminals of the safe circuits of electrical devices. These circuits limit the thermal and electrical energy in a hazardous environment and are therefor incapable of causing an explosion in the surrounding atmosphere. Typical applications for the devices are in processing, measurement and control equipment in accordance with the Principles of Explosion Protection to the National Electric Code Articles 500 through 505, British standards BS EN 50014 and BS EN 50020, European specifications EN50014 and EN50020, and International standards IEC 60079-11. The ELM blocks, designed for use as discrete wire terminations for wire-to-board applications, are available in either 0.200-in. or five-mm spaced fixed block version with 2 to 24 positions and 10-A/300-V ratings.
