DuPont Wins A Bulldog Media Relations ‘Gold' Award For ‘Best New Product Launch – Business' For The 2015 Opening Of Its Cellulosic Ethanol Biorefinery

Award Honors the Company’s Effective Communications around the Opening of the Plant

(PRWEB) - This week, DuPont Industrial Biosciences (DuPont) received a Media Relations “Gold” Award for “Best New Product Launch – Business,” from Bulldog Reporter. A global leader in the biofuels market, DuPont was recognized for the communications strategy and execution to support the opening of its cellulosic ethanol facility in Nevada, Iowa, in October 2015. Bulldog Reporter announced the winners live on Periscope on Tuesday, May 31.

The award acknowledged DuPont’s communications success in publicizing a momentous business achievement – the launch of the world’s largest cellulosic ethanol plant, with the capacity to produce 30 million gallons per year of clean, renewable fuel that offers a 90 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as compared to gasoline. The PR efforts included outreach to trade and mainstream media outlets, regulatory leaders and elected officials, as well as the local community, industry stakeholders and potential customers from around the world.

The award is shared by agency partner The Glover Park Group, which developed a multi-faceted program with DuPont to engage various stakeholders in this event and milestone for the industry. The integrated strategy included engaging public opinion on the topic of ethanol and biofuels policy and leveraging the upcoming Iowa caucus to highlight the important role of the industry in the local and national economy, as well as the environment and energy security debates. The opening event garnered local, state, national and international coverage in print and broadcast media, and perhaps more significantly, broadened the engaged circle of stakeholders in supporting this project and the overall industry.

“Through a carefully crafted and meticulously executed communications strategy leading up to the completion of the plant site, we were able to effectively communicate our core message to our key audiences – that DuPont’s cellulosic technology and team of committed scientists and engineers are reforming the transportation energy sector with cleaner, renewable and reliable fuel from biomass,” said Wendy Rosen, global public affairs leader, DuPont Industrial Biosciences. “We are honored to receive this recognition and will continue to work tirelessly in support of this important industry as we commercialize this low-carbon fuel here in the United States and abroad.”
