CTA Construction Enters Phase 2 Of Putnam Garden Rehab

After a fine job in completing phase one, CTA Construction Co. Inc. has started phase two of the $22 million revitalization of the Putnam Garden Apartments complex for the Cambridge Housing Authority.

(PRWEB) - Cambridge, Mass: CTA Construction Co. Inc. has started phase two of the $22 million revitalization of the Putnam Garden Apartments complex for the Cambridge Housing Authority. The project includes renovations to 122 apartments, improvements to common areas and upgrades to building systems.

The first phase of the project recently completed and residents returned to renovated apartments including kitchens and bathrooms with new finishes and fixtures, and improvements to insulation, painting, baseboard heating, fire alarms, electrical systems, sprinklers, floors, wallboard ceilings and soffits, renovation and ADA upgrades of common stairwells. In addition, repairs were made to the doors, frames and windows.

“The renovations to the individual apartments provide needed repairs and improvements, and the upgrades in overall building systems, including plumbing and heating, will benefit all the residents at Putnam Gardens. In addition to work inside the units, the project includes installation of a new sprinkler system throughout the three-building complex, the replacement of the entire plumbing system for the complex including new water lines connecting to the city water mains, a new boiler plant, site upgrades and the construction of four waste management sheds.

The project also includes repairs to the roof to extend the manufacturer’s warranty.

Based in Waltham, CTA’s portfolio of work includes large residential complexes, as well as commercial, office, municipal, academic and public safety buildings. Previously, CTA renovated the Harry S. Truman Apartment Building for the Cambridge Housing Authority.
