Details

Acme has introduced a line of UL K-rated transformers designed specifically for use on systems that generate high levels of harmonic currents. The line is available in the most common ratings of K-4, K-13 and K-20 in both 150 deg. C, 115 deg. C and 80 deg. C. temperature rise models. Primary voltages include 480 Delta primary to 208Y/120 secondary volts and 600 Delta primary to 208Y/120 volts secondary and range in KVA sizes from 15.0 to 500KVA.

The Acme units are housed in a NEMA type 2 enclosure that is constructed of heavy gauge steel. The units can be easily converted to a UL 3R enclosure with the addition of an optional weather shield.

Typical harmonic producing loads include DC drives, computers and other electronic data processing equipment, fax machines, HID lighting and many others. Acme non-linear load transformers incorporate special winding techniques to minimize eddy current losses caused by harmonic loads. A double-sized neutral conductor is used to handle excessive neutral currents and a Faraday shield helps eliminate line noise and voltage spikes.

All Acme non-linear transformers are UL listed and CSA certified. They are also covered by Acme's 10 year limited warranty.

Acme manufacturers a full line of dry type distribution transformers including non-linear types, drive isolation, buck-boost, OPTIMISER low temperature rise, and industrial control. The Acme line is sold through a nationwide network of reps and electrical distributors across the US and Canada.
