Kwik Trip To Use Afaria

Afaria Patch Manager enables convenience store chain Kwik Trip to manage Microsoft patches on store systems, thus meeting a Visa information security mandate. Systems Consultants at American Technology Corporation (ATC), provided the integration expertise for Kwik Trip's complex computing infrastructure.

Dublin, CA -- iAnywhere Solutions, Inc. announced that Kwik Trip, a convenience store chain in the United States, is using Afaria, the company's frontline management and security solution, to centrally manage, deliver, and deploy Microsoft software patches to Kwik Trip's diverse computing systems.

Recognized in 2004 as the Convenience Store Chain of the Year by Convenience Store Decisions magazine, Kwik Trip is widely known throughout the industry for its excellence in product and service quality.

In response to Visa USA's Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP), Kwik Trip deployed the Afaria Patch Manager solution to deliver updated patches to point of sale (POS) and inventory systems in each store, as well as laptops being used by district managers and internal auditors that travel between stores, assuring that its total computing environment is secure. The CISP mandate has been issued to members, merchants and service providers to ensure the protection of Visa cardholder data.

"At Kwik Trip we are always looking for new ways that technology can help support our goal of achieving excellence in both operations and customer service," said Ed Strahs, vice president information technology, Kwik Trip. "Afaria allows us to manage our systems so they are always available for secure customer transactions and each of those transactions are executed in a way that protects our customers' personal information," said Ron Sissel, manager, retail systems, Kwik Trip.
