iWork Software and W.W. Grainger Inc. cross-license technology
June 24, 2003
Greensboro, NC — iWork Software has granted to W.W. Grainger, Inc., a worldwide license to its U.S. Patent Number 6310888. Grainger is the first company to license the intellectual property from iWork.
The patent relates to a unique data integration and routing solution developed by iWork. The methodology involves communication information between computers and their software applications in a broker and adapter integration system using standard message formats and based on defined routing relationships. These messages and routings appear as business processes unique to the end user and can occur between multiple integration technologies.
As part of the transaction, iWork has gained worldwide use of complementary patent-pending technology developed by Grainger for use in its Now! Suite of supply chain execution and mobile computing applications.
