Thermacam PM 695 Thermal Imaging System Wins Laser Focus world 2001 Commercial Technology Achieivement (CTA) Award

February 1, 2001

Laser Focus World Magazine recently announced that FLIR Systems ThermaCAMÃ’ PM 695 Handheld Thermal and Visual Imaging System has been named winner in the imaging systems category of their annual Commercial Technology Achievement Award. According to Laser Focus World Magazine, the winning products represent the most innovative, in-demand technology introduced commercially between October 1, 1999 and September 15, 2000. Winners were selected by Laser Focus World's Editorial Advisory Board who independently rank their top five choices in each of eight areas of commercial optoelectronics technology. Winning products were honored at an awards ceremony at Photonics West in San Jose, CA in Janaury 2001.

The ThermaCAM PM 695 was selected because it is first infrared camera to include both thermal and visual imaging capabilities in a single system, completely automating the infrared inspection process. All the requirements of predictive maintenance thermal inspection program are now included in a single system. With the PM 695, predictive maintenance is easier than ever before. Plant engineers have all the information needed to make critical maintenance decisions; problems can now be easily and accurately seen visually, measured thermally and reported upon in comprehensive maintenance reports.

Today over 30,000 commercial systems have been sold worldwide to support applications in predictive maintenance, R&D, nondestructive test, process control, and public safety. FLIR's ThermaCAM series of thermal imaging cameras have set the standard for thermographic inspections worldwide, offering unique camera and software capabilities to facilitate easy, fast and accurate predictive maintenance tasks.
