Thermacam® PM 695 Infrared Camera Wins Plant Engineering's 2000 Product of The Year Award
Plant Engineering Magazine recently announced that FLIR Systems ThermaCAMÒ PM 695 Handheld Thermal and Visual Imaging System for Predictive Maintenance has won the Gold Award in the Instruments category in their annual Product of the Year Competition. Plant engineers and maintenance professionals consider this award, which honors new and innovative products, one of the most distinguished awards in the facilities maintenance industry. According to Plant Engineering Magazine, ‘products are judged on their effectiveness in making the plant engineer's life more enjoyable and their work more productive.' Initial entries were screened by a panel of plant engineers for publication in Plant Engineering Magazine; readers then voted on their choices for best products. Presentation of the awards will be made at a special reception during the National Plant Engineering MRO and Management Show in Chicago, IL on March 5, 2001.
The first infrared camera to include both thermal and visual imaging capabilities, the ThermaCAM PM 695 was selected because it incorporates all the requirements of an infrared inspection program in a single system. With the PM 695, plant engineers have the information needed to make critical maintenance decisions; problems can now be easily and accurately seen visually, measured thermally and reported upon in comprehensive maintenance reports.
Today over 30,000 commercial systems have been sold worldwide to support applications in predictive maintenance, R&D, nondestructive test, process control, and public safety. FLIR's ThermaCAM series of thermal imaging cameras have set the standard for thermographic inspections worldwide, offering unique camera and software capabilities to facilitate easy, fast and accurate predictive maintenance tasks.
