Research Package Designed To Meet Scientific Thermal Testing And Analysis Applications

FLIR Systems, Inc. today introduced the ThermaCAM® SC 300 Research Package which includes a rugged IR camera and Researcher™ software providing affordable yet powerful real-time thermal analysis capabilities. Designed for basic thermal testing and non-contact temperature measurement, the SC 300 provides the accuracy and details required to understand thermal performance in a wide variety of research, product validation and design verification applications. The ThermaCAM SC 300 provides an effective alternative to single point temperature measurement technologies.

Featuring uncooled microbolometer sensor technology and real-time digital analysis software, the SC 300 provides high-definition longwave (7.5 to 13 um) imaging and allows detailed real-time digital thermal analysis of over 19,000 individual temperature measurement points. Fully automated camera features, intuitive multi-lingual interface, a variety of lenses and powerful software make the SC 300 ideal for evaluating two-dimensional thermal performance of targets ranging from –20° to +2000°C. Simple to use, the SC 300 provides the data engineers need to see, measure and quantify heat patterns.

The ThermaCAM SC Family consists of five high performance IR systems designed to meet varying scientific applications and budget requirements. According to Andrew Teich, Senior Vice President of Marketing, "The expansion of the SC IR Camera family opens new scientific markets and broadens the range of thermal problems solved; it also strengthens the ThermaCAM product line which has become the world's best selling infrared focal plane array for temperature measurement applications."

To date, over 30,000 commercial systems have been sold worldwide to support applications in research and development, non-destructive testing, manufacturing process control, predictive maintenance/condition monitoring and public safety. FLIR's ThermaCAM series of uncooled and cooled thermal imaging cameras have set the standard for thermographic testing and analysis and are the most widely used IR non-contact temperature measurement systems worldwide.
