Alexander Mining plc-AmmLeach® Testwork To Investigate Pilot Plant For Tiger Resources

London UK Marketwire – Alexander Mining plc ("Alexander", the "Company"); listed: (AIM:AXM)(TSX VENTURE:AXD), the mining and mineral processing technologies company, is pleased to announce that it is undertaking AmmLeach® testwork for Tiger Resources Limited ("Tiger"); listed: (TSX:TGS)(ASX:TGS) on ore from Tiger's Kipoi copper/cobalt project in the copperbelt of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ("DRC"). In addition, Alexander is completing detailed pilot plant design engineering for the project and expects to have preliminary designs completed within two weeks.

Tiger began producing at its flagship Kipoi project in April 2011. The Stage 1 plan of the Kipoi project is for annual production of 35,000 tonnes of copper. The Kipoi Central high grade zone includes a cobalt mineral resource estimate of 7,400t of contained cobalt, of which the Kipoi Central Stage 1 Pit contains 590Kt ore at 0.75% cobalt for approximately 4,500t of contained cobalt. Tiger has indicated it would like a pilot cobalt plant to be operational early in 2012.
